 Click to view full-size. A Solar Photovoltaic System was installed in November 2018 on the roof of the shop. And, as with our existing Solar Hot Water System, 330 days of sunshine makes it worth the investment. A total of 50 CSI 300 watt panels were installed with the potential capacity of producing 15kw/hour. We had to upgrade our main electric transformer from 10kw to 15kw to accommodate the system and completely overhaul the electrical system in the shop. Whatever we generate over our usage (net metering) is sold back to our power company - but at the wholesale rate. Also, we have a wi-fi computer based monitoring system which allows us to check the function and output of each solar panel in real time. |
